These Terms & Conditions apply when you join, book or participate in activities organised by Marlow Padel Club, which is operated by Marlow Explorers.
By booking and paying for a session, you agree to these terms.
1. About Marlow Padel Club
Marlow Padel Club is a community that organises social and competitive padel games, sessions, events and related activities.
Marlow Padel Club does not currently operate its own padel venue. Games may take place at independent third-party clubs and venues.
Contact: padel@marlowexplorers.co.uk
Business address: Marlow, SL7 2AR, Buckinghamshire
Where applicable, the rules and conditions of the venue where a session takes place must also be followed.
2. Booking a session
Sessions may be offered through WhatsApp, email, the Marlow Padel Club website or other communication channels.
We will normally provide the relevant details before you book, including:
- the date and time;
- the venue;
- the price; and
- any important information about the session.
Places are subject to availability.
Unless we tell you otherwise, a place is confirmed once we have accepted your booking and received any required payment.
Payments may be accepted by bank transfer or through other payment methods that we introduce in the future.
3. Session prices
The price of each session will be communicated before you book.
Prices may vary depending on factors such as court costs, session length, location, coaching or other activities included.
Any future change in pricing will not affect a session that you have already booked and paid for.
4. Cancellations by players
Padel courts are normally booked and paid for in advance, so late cancellations can leave the club responsible for the cost of an unused place.
If you need to cancel:
48 hours or more before the session: we will normally offer you credit towards another Marlow Padel Club session.
Less than 48 hours before the session: your payment will normally be non-refundable. However, if we are able to fill your place with another player, we may offer you a refund or credit.
You may ask to transfer your place to somebody else, but please contact us first. We may need to approve the replacement player to ensure that the session remains appropriate for their playing level and the other participants.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.
Because bookings relate to leisure activities taking place on a specific date or during a specific period, the usual 14-day cancellation right applying to many online or distance purchases does not generally apply to these bookings.
5. Cancellations or changes by us
Occasionally we may need to change or cancel a session because of circumstances such as venue availability, court closures, weather, insufficient player numbers, illness or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may also make reasonable changes to court allocation, playing groups, session format or timings where necessary.
If we cancel a session and cannot provide a suitable alternative, you will be entitled to a refund or, if you prefer, credit towards another session.
If a session needs to be rescheduled, you will not be required to accept the new date.
6. Player matching
Where possible, Marlow Padel Club may organise players into games based on information such as experience, playing level and previous results.
Any player rating, level or matchmaking system operated by Marlow Padel Club is intended as a guide only.
We cannot guarantee that every match will consist of players of exactly the same ability or that every game will be evenly matched.
We may move players between groups or suggest alternative sessions where we believe this will create a better playing experience.
7. Playing safely
Padel is a physical sporting activity and participation involves the normal risks associated with exercise and racket sports.
By taking part, you confirm that you are reasonably satisfied that you are able to participate safely.
You are responsible for:
- playing within your own abilities;
- using suitable footwear and equipment;
- following reasonable safety instructions;
- complying with venue rules; and
- informing us or the venue of anything relevant that may affect your safe participation where appropriate.
You should stop playing if you feel unwell or believe continuing would be unsafe.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Personal belongings
You are responsible for your own belongings while attending a session.
Marlow Padel Club is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen or damaged unless the loss or damage results from something for which we are legally responsible.
9. Behaviour
Marlow Padel Club is intended to be friendly, welcoming and enjoyable.
We expect participants to treat other players, organisers, venue staff and members of the public with respect.
We may refuse or cancel future participation where someone behaves in a way that is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, persistently disruptive or unsafe.
Where reasonably possible, we will explain why action has been taken.
10. Third-party venues
Sessions may take place at padel clubs or other venues that are independently owned and operated.
Marlow Padel Club may organise and purchase court time from those venues but does not control their facilities, staff or general operations.
Participants must comply with reasonable venue rules while attending.
Nothing in these terms affects any rights you may have directly against a venue or any legal responsibility that Marlow Padel Club has in relation to the service we provide.
11. Events, trips and holidays
Marlow Padel Club may occasionally advertise social events, padel trips, holidays or other experiences.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, booking a normal padel session does not create any obligation to participate in these activities.
Separate booking conditions may apply to trips, holidays or other travel arrangements and will be provided where appropriate before booking.
12. Under-18s
Unless specifically advertised as a junior session, Marlow Padel Club sessions are intended for participants aged 18 or over.
Participation by anyone under 18 must be agreed with us in advance and may require permission from a parent or legal guardian.
13. Privacy and communications
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Marlow Padel Club Privacy Policy.
We may use the contact details you provide to administer your booking and communicate with you about the session or Marlow Padel Club activities you have asked to hear about.
Optional marketing communications are handled separately in accordance with your communication preferences.
14. Our responsibility to you
We will provide the services we organise with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the booking was made or losses that are unrelated to our breach of these terms or legal duties.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions as Marlow Padel Club develops.
The version that applies to your booking will normally be the version in effect when that booking is made.
The latest version will be available on the Marlow Padel Club website.
16. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in these terms affects any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
